Project CARS, Slightly Mad Studios’ much-anticipated racing sim, finally launches this week, and so of course there’s a shiny launch trailer accompany the game hitting shelves after a four year development cycle.
With the largest track list of any racer in modern history, spread over more than 110 locations, and with a huge amound of racing disciplines to master, Slightly Mad’s premier title is certainly ambitious. It’s pretty gorgeous, too, with dynamic weather and lighting, lovingly-rendered recreations of well-known vehicles and some lovely terrain to oggle at.
As well as traditional career and head-to-head multiplayer modes, the game also supports competitive multiplayer races for up to 16 players and asynchronous time trials. If you pick it up on PC, the game supports Oculus Rift and Project Morpheus VR headsets, too.
The launch trailer doesn’t really show much in the way of actual gameplay, but it does show off the game’s rather lovely visuals. Take a look for yourself in the trailer below.
Project CARS arrives on PC, PS4 and Xbox One tomorrow in North America, and on May 8th in the UK, Europe and Australia. A Wii U port has also been promised, though news on that is scarce.
