We’ve reported before that Pokémon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire - the 3DS remakes of the 3rd generation GBA Pokémon games - will include new evolved forms, more specifically prehistoric evolutions for legendary class pokémon Kyogre and Groudon. Well, this latest trailer shows of a powerful punch-packing p-p-p… Mega-Metagross Mega Evolution.
According to Nintendo: “Upon Mega Evolving, Metagross’s Ability changes to Tough Claws, which increases the power of attacks that make physical contact. Mega Metagross also has a greatly increased Speed stat, with additional increases in its Attack, Defence, Sp. Atk, and Sp. Def […]”.
Metagross isn’t the only Mega Evolution we got word of, however. Diance will also be seeing a Mega Evolution which nets it “the Magic Bounce Ability, which makes any status condition or stat-lowering effect bounce back at the Pokémon trying to inflict it. Through Mega Evolution, Mega Diancie receives a big boost to its Speed, as well as boosts to its Attack and Sp. Atk, while experiencing a reduction in its Defense and Sp. Def. […]”.
There’s a few other things to take away from the trailer: we get to see the Hoenn region gym leaders remodelled in 3D, as well as the interiors of their respective gyms. Speaking of gyms, we reported earlier that the Secret Base feature would be returning, albeit expanded to allow players to make their own custom gyms, complete with traps and custom battle rules. The trailer has a short demo reel of the customization features being tinkered with, giving us some idea of how in-depth the customization features will be.
Pokémon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire will be releasing for the 3DS later this year on November 28. The Pokémon Amie feature will also be making a return. So you can dress up your Pikachu in frilly dresses and pet it to your hearts’ content (no, seriously, you can)… we won’t judge you.
