Obsidian Entertainment, the developer who is best known for the recent South Park: The Stick of Truth and Fallout: New Vegas, has announced their latest project, and it’s not quite what you’d expect.
In a partnership with My.com, the largest Internet company in Russian-speaking countries, Obsidian Entertainment has been hard at work on Armored Warfare, a free-to-play online tactical military MMO.
The game has players assume the role of private military contractors, and allows them to establish a forward operating base and create and upgrade a fleet of vehicles with customized crew.
While not much is known about the game at the moment, the game’s website provides further details about play progress: “As you gain more combat experience and fight through more battles and scenarios you’ll meet new characters and suppliers who will give you access to newer and even more powerful destructive machines, improved ammunition and other resources.”
A PC exclusive, the game will be in closed beta, which will begin at an undisclosed time in 2014. In the meanwhile, you can try to get into the beta on Armored Warfare’s official website.
