Nosgoth, Square Enix’s spinoff from the Legacy of Kain series, is due to enter open beta on January 21st, the publisher has announced.
Developed by Psyonix, Nosgoth is a free-to-play, assymmetrical, competitive multiplayer action game, where teams of Vampires and Humans face off in tightly-designed maps. It’s been in closed beta now for quite some time, and while those hoping for a proper single-player return to the world of Kain and Raziel, Nosgoth is actually quite a fun game in its own right.
Oli Zimmerman previewed the game for us back last August. “Nosgoth is a free-to-play game that can easily stand on it’s own,” he said in his Nosgoth Preview. “It may look like a generic third-person shooter but it’s far from it – give it a try, when you find yourself with a smile on your face don’t say I didn’t tell you so.”
To celebrate the launch of the open beta, Psyonix will be rewarding players with double XP for the first week.
