Next Titanfall Map-Pack DLC Announced

Fans of Respawn’s parkour/power-armor shooter Titanfall take note—the game’s developers have just announced the second map-pack DLC, entitled Frontier’s Edge. The map-pack is the second of three confirmed expansions, all of which are covered by the game’s DLC season pass. No release date has been given as of yet, but the first map-pack was released roughly a month after its announcement, so check back soon.

As the name implies, Frontier’s Edge will see players battling it out in the far reaches of the universe.

“Titanfall Frontier’s Edge introduces three exciting new maps,” Respawn said in their press statement—“including the isolated mining outpost of Dig Site, the exclusive beach resort of Haven and the mining hub on the side of a mountain known as Export.”

Judging by the image Respawn released alongside the announcement, Frontier’s edge should give players some varied environments to duke it out in. Not surprising, after all, as the last map-pack featured maps set on a swampy jungle planet.

Titanfall blends a mix of FPS action with parkour tricks and lumber mech-suit armor. The game was developed by West and Zampella, two lead creators of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare series. Our own Dale Morgan reviewed the game favorably, calling it “Bloody good fun… combining the tight first-person shooter gameplay the pair are known for, with the wall-running of Mirror’s Edge and throwing in a dash of Gundam.”

We’ll keep you updated with release information and media as they become available.
