Square Enix has revealed a clutch of new screenshots taken from Final Fantasy XV, and they do a good job of showing off the RPG sequel’s sumptuous new Luminous engine.
The screens are apparently taken from Episode Duscae - an upcoming demo of the game available exclusively to players who grab early copies of Final Fantasy Type 0 HD. And while Type 0 is a remaster of a 4-year-old PSP game, there’s absolutely no doubt that Square Enix is attempting to wring every last drop of power from current-generation consoles. Just look at the detail on that hand!
Final Fantasy XV currently has no set release date, but is expected to release for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 sometime towards the end of the year, or early 2016. Episode Duscae will be released as an added bonus with purchases of the Collector’s Edition or Day One Edition of Final Fantasy Type 0 HD, which is set for a release on March 17th in North America , March 19th in Japan, and March 20th in the Rest of Europe, also on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. There’s currently no announced plans for a PC version, but following the (rather late, admittedly) PC versions of the three Final Fantasy XIII games late last year, don’t be surprised if it turns up on Steam eventually.
