Riot is currently in the process of changing League of Legends’ most played “Field of Justice” (or map to those aren’t familiar with League of Legends lore). To help players better understand the changes that they are planning to make, Riot has released a 5 minute video explaining their reasoning behind certain changes.

In the below five minute video, Riot touches on how the changes improve clarity, allowing players to be aware of what is happening around them. Additionally, the new map design highlights important things such as enemy champions so that focusing on fighting becomes easier. Comparison footage shown in the video illustrates the differences between the original and the version that they are currently working on and this is where you really see the differences come to life. Different locations are easier to identify at a quick glance because different areas are now graphically themed to appear different. The two team bases are more defined and NPC encounters such as ‘Dragon’ and ‘Baron Nashor’ are more cinematic.

Riot has made it clear that they are still working on the changes to Summoner’s Rift and probably still will be for months to come. This means that we probably shouldn’t get too comfortable with the changes being showed at the moment as there is a chance that it may evolve even more as time passes. Now, how about a new Taric model?
