New Launch Trailer Revealed For Sunset

Tale of Tales has released a new trailer for their upcoming game, Sunset, which is set for release on the 21st of May on PC, Mac and Linux.

This weekend past, the trailer premiered at Kill Screen’s Two5six games and culture festival in Brooklyn. It was Kert Gartner (known for his work on trailers for Spelunky and Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number) who created the trailer.

“We secretly call the trailer ‘Sunset, the movie,'” explains Michaël Samyn, “Kert Gartner has captured the spirit of our story and the essence of Angela’s situation very well. Whenever I get anxious about how our game will be received when it is launched on Thursday, I look at the trailer and feel confident again: that’s a game I really want to play!”

There are now only a few days left to pre-order Sunset through Humble, priced at $14.99/€12.99/£9.99. The retail price for the game after release will be $19.99/€17.99/£14.99, although it will have a 10% discount on Steam for the first week.

If you aren’t aware of what the game’s about, I can briefly explain. You’ll be playing as Angela Burns, a housekeeper working in a fictional South American city. The entire game takes place in a single apartment, during weekly visits throughout the course of a year in the 70s. You simply have to go about your duties as a housekeeper for your employer, the wealthy Gabriel Ortega. However, you will be able to feed your curiosity by exploring his home, ultimately discovering his role, and your own, in the revolution that takes place in the country.

The focus is on first person narrative, you can neither win nor lose, only influence the events. Sunset can have anything from 3 hours to 22 hours of gameplay, depending on how you decide to interact with you environment.

Sunset certainly sounds like an incredibly interesting game, and it’s one that I’ll definitely be trying myself. Take a gander at the new trailer below and some screenshots.
