Not even a year after the release of the first game in the series, developer Scott Cawthon has announced Five Nights at Freddy’s 4: The Final Chapter - the latest installment of the explosively popular indie horror franchise - is coming this Halloween.
Just last month it was revealed that Warner Bros. has obtained the rights to adapt the series into a feature film. Producer Seth Grahame-Smith has described plans to make the Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza into an “insane, terrifying and weirdly adorable movie.” I don’t know whether I should be excited or horrified by that statement…
The original Five Nights at Freddy’s was released on Steam in Summer 2014 and was later ported to Android and iOS. Cawthon followed up the original with a pair of sequels in just 6 months. All three games have been huge successes on both PC and mobile, with all three featuring in the top 20 paid games list on iTunes.
