New Batman: Arkham Knight Trailer Shows Playable Catwoman, Robin & Nightwing

New Arkham Knight Trailer

A trailer for the much anticipated title Batman: Arkham Knight has been released by Warner Bros Entertainment.

Presenting allies such as Catwoman, Robin and Nightwing, the trailer shows off Arkham Knights new “Dual Play” feature, which allows players to seamlessly switch between Batman and his allies during combat sequences in real-time.

Set one year after the Jokers death in Arkham City, the city of Gotham has become a relatively safe place since the demise of Batman’s most notorious enemy. However when Scarecrow decides to threaten the city with a newly created strain of fear toxin and a gang of Batman’s most dangerous villains by his side, a city-wide evacuation of Gotham’s residents is issued. With only the police and an army full of criminals, its up to Batman and his kickass gadgets to put a stop to Scarecrow’s terror threat, which is made all the more problematic when the mysterious Arkham Knight appears to take down the caped crusader for good.

Akrham Knight‘s playable area is reported to be approximately five times the size of Arkham City, according to developer Rocksteady. Not only that, but the title also appears to be delving deep into much darker territory this time around, with the game said to be make references to scenes of torture, blood and occasional swearing - which have earned it a Mature rating from American ratings organization the ESRB.

A Harley Quinn Story Pack is said to be included when you pre-order the game, and the PlayStation 4 comes packed with exclusive Scarecrow Nightmare missions and custom skins. Batman: Arkham Knight is scheduled for release June 23rd for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. After the disappointment that was Batman: Arkham Origins, developed by Warner Bros. Montreal, hopes are high that Rocksteady brings the series to a close with a satisfying bang-crash-wallop.

Here’s the trailer. What do you think? Feel free to let us know in the comments below.
