The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot has been in open beta for a while now, and it’s shaping up rather nicely - we’ll have a hands-on preview for you soon.
From today until April 22nd (8am UK time, to be precise), players will be able to spend a weekend playing with all three hero classes in the game - the Knight, Archer and Mage. Previously, after choosing your initial hero, the other classes were locked behind a paywall, so the weekend serves as a chance to try out the other two choices and see if they’re interested in unlocking them for real money later on. If you do decide to unlock them permanently, then until the end of the event you’ll be able to do so at half the normal price - and not only will you receive the heroes themselves, you’ll also receive pets to go with them.
The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot is an interesting blend of Action-RPG mechanics with castle defense. You can invade other player’s castles, and lay down defenses and minions in your own to thwart invading players. Meanwhile you’ll level up, research new castle upgrades and learn new skills for your chosen hero - as well as collect lots of loot, of course. The game is free to play, with optional in-game micro-transactions for additional currency and, of course, the aforementioned heroes.
To go along with the announcement, Ubisoft has issued a new trailer to give prospective players an idea of what to expect.
