Released August 26th, Metro Redux carries both Metro: Last Light and Metro 2033 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. It’s quite a package.

Having all DLC, Redux boasts several changes to the gunplay, lighting, and AI, aiding immense graphical enhancements to the already graphically impressive Metro franchise. It also runs these games at 60 fps, a must for those in love with visual fidelity and shooters.

A sci-fi survival horror shooter, Metro 2033 is based on the book of the same name by Dmitri Glukhovsky. Set in a post-apocalyptic Moscow, Metro 2033 looks at the role and behavior of humans who have fled underground for safety in the wake of a surge of mutate, monstrous creatures.

Metro: Last Light, on the other hand, looks at the aftermath of the protagonist’s decision in Metro 2033, so if you haven’t played either yet, you should start off with Metro 2033.

Editor Nic Bunce reviewed both titles, scoring 9 out of 10 for both the first and second games. “Both games are thoroughly compelling,” he said in his review of Last Light, “adding survival horror to the FPS genre in ways which no other game has done in quite the same way.”
