An extended version of Kojima Productions’ Gamescom demo has revealed the first footage of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain’s multiplayer mode, in which players will be able to sneak into and invade other players’ bases.

The original presentation from Gamescom last week finished at around the 16:50 mark of the video below, but the video released this week has five minutes of extra footage which showcases the multiplayer. Back in June, it was explained that players will be able to customize their Mother base, where the player’s personal Snake keeps his private army, stolen military gear and kidnapped livestock. This extra footage has now revealed that players will in fact be able to infiltrate other bases in order to steal supplies and even persuade members of another players arsenal to join forces with you.

The trailer also touches on exactly how players will be able to upgrade their bases, being able to add gun cameras, laser sensors and unmanned aerial vehicles around the area. A demonstration is also made as to how the “phantom cigar” can be used to accelerate time.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is set for release at the end of 2014 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.
