TT Games has (finally) announced the existence of Lego Dimensions.
Rumors of Lego Dimensions‘ existence have been circulating for the past few weeks, but up until now publisher Warner Bros. has remained silent. One source confirmed the game’s existence to Continue Play, and also said that Warner Bros. is investigating the source of the original leaks.
Lego Dimensions is set to combine elements from many beloved franchises - including DC Comics, The Lord of the Rings, The Lego Movie, The Wizard of Oz, Ninjago, Back to the Future and many more that are yet to be announced. For the first time in a Lego game, characters from various franchises will join together to fight outside their own world.
The Lego Dimensions Starter Pack will include the Lego Toy Pad, which allows players to transport special bricks into their game world. It will also include bricks to build the Lego Gateway and three Lego Minifigures - including Batman, Gandalf and Wyldstyle from The Lego Movie, plus the Lego Batmobile.
Jon Burton, Founder and Creative Director at TT Games, said that “for the first time in a videogame, Lego fans can play in the virtual world and in the real world – combining everything without restrictions.”
Other than the three figures that come with the game, there will be various expansion packs released that will allow you to build more physical Lego creations that can be transferred into the game too. Level Packs, Team Packs and Fun Packs will provide new buildable characters, vehicles, tools and gadgets, as well as new mission-based levels and unique in-game abilities. All of these expansions will also be able to be used interchangeably, with no limitations. A large number of these will be available at launch, with more added in the future.
Lego Dimensions is set to launch on the September 29th for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4 and the Nintendo Wii U.
