Left 4 Dead Coming To Arcades In Japan

With Turtle Rock Studios working on the highly anticipated Evolve, many fans have been wondering what would become of their favorite zombie killing series Left 4 Dead.
Well wonder no longer, because word got out today that the newest entry in the series, titled Left 4 Dead: Survivors, is coming to Japanese arcades later this year.

Previously titled Project Z, L4D Survivors will be made available through Taito’s Nesica.net, a service used in Japanese arcades that allows arcade games to be streamed to cabinets throughout the building. Left 4 Dead: Survivors will be joining the ranks of such popular games as Street Fighter 4 Ultra and Persona 4 Arena Ultimax on the service.

Very little is known about the title at this time; no videos or screenshots have been released, and Valve has yet to comment or make any mention whatsoever of the game.

Given the state of arcades outside of Japan it seems unlikely for us to get an arcade release of this new game in the Left 4 Dead series, but there may still be hope in the form of a PC or console port.

In the mean time, check out the incredibly cheesy announcement trailer for Project Z.
