Developer Crystal Dynamics announced Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris, a top-down action puzzle-solving quest for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
Temple of Osiris’ story comes from the myth of Osiris, and has Lara and friends scouring Egypt for the body parts of the God King Osiris, so they can put him back together.
Temple of Osiris is the spiritual successor to 2010′s Lara Croft and the Guardians of Light; a similar game which featured cooperative puzzle-solving and platforming. Temple of Osiris, however, boasts a four-player co-op experience.
The four playable characters are Lara, Carter Bells (another archaeologist), and Horus and Isis (the son and wife of Osiris, respectively). Each character has their own unique ability, such as being able to temporarily cloak themselves in a protective shield of light.
The game can be played alone, or with up to three friends; the experience changes based on how many players you have. For example, every puzzle can be solved by one player, but they change depending on the number of teammates in order to maintain the level of challenge and that fresh-game-feeling. Also, the more players you have, the more loot you’ll receive, so there is an incentive to play with more people - besides the sheer fun of it.
No release date has been announced yet, though more details are expected emerge later in the week.
