The end-user license agreements or EULAs are usually ignored by most. But Killing Floor 2’s EULA is worth a read as it has some regulations that players should know before jumping-in.
In section six of the EULA, titled “Cheats, Cheating and Abusive Behaviors,” developer Tripwire Interactive states they have the right to ban cheaters, and anyone who acts in a way they find harmful to other players.
The EULA reads, “This includes, but is not limited to, ‘griefing’, racist bigotry, sexism or any other forms of ‘cyber bullying’. We will also not tolerate anyone hosting servers for the game where such behaviors are continually or repeatedly allowed to take place.”
“If we find you are a Cheater or Abusive, we will revoke your CD key and ban you from the Killing Floor 2 servers and tell your mom! Your license will automatically terminate, without notice, and you will have no right to play Killing Floor 2 or any Killing Floor 2 Mods against other players or make any other use of Killing Floor 2. End of story.”
In other words: if you want to play Killing Floor 2, don’t be a dick.
Some users weren’t happy that Tripwire reserves the right to ban players for this type of behavior. But the developer explained this decision will not affect most users, saying: “It’s there so that, if at some point in the future, some individual gets utterly out of control and is being abusive to enough thousands of people to come to our attention - we can actually take action.”
Killing Floor 2 launched on Steam Early Access April 21st, and the full game is due to be released on PC and PlayStation 4 sometime in 2015.
Taylor Hidalgo previewed Killing Floor 2 for Continue Play just week, and came away from Tripwire’s sequel feeling impressed. “Killing Floor 2 is chaotic fun. It’s messy, fast, gorgeous, frantic, and entertaining,” he wrote in his Killing Floor 2 preview. “All of the classes have their strengths, none of the weapons feel underdone or like they underperform, the details are carefully observed, and with the exception of the very rare bug or two, everything is polished to a mirror’s shine.”
