Avalanche and Square Enix have released the first gameplay trailer for Just Cause 3 into the wild.
The trailer, which you can view below, opens with a short sequence showcasing the new wingsuit used by protagonist Rico Rodriguez, before showing off the improved physics and destructible environments. Statues crumble, lots of things explode, and Rico walks towards the camera as things blow up in slow motion.
The trailer closes with the tagline “set the world on fire”.
Also revealed is a new pre-order offer - players who reserve their copy in advance will release an exclusive “weaponized vehicle” pack.
According the description of the video on Youtube, everything was captured in-game and is representative of actual gameplay. “This footage is all actual gameplay. It was captured in-game using cinematic camera angles. It contains no cut scenes. Nothing was staged or scripted,” the blurb reads.
Just Cause 3 is due out towards the end of the year on PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One, but we’ll likely see more of Avalanche’s sequel long before then - Square Enix is holding a conference at this year’s E3, where it’s also expected to show more of Final Fantasy XV and the recently announced Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.
