Heroes: Reborn, the upcoming resurrection of the popular superhero TV series, is to receive a pair of spin-off video games.
Both games tie into the story of the Heroes: Reborn TV series coming in September. This first one, Gemini, is a full-fledged release for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. The plot will follow the journey of young Cassandra as she returns to her past. The second game, Enigma, will be released on iOS and Android. Enigma will follow the life of Dahlia, who is attempting to escape from a top secret government facility.
Both titles have been developed by Phosphor Games, whose work up to now has consisted of the well-received Horn and The Dark Meadow for mobile devices. They’ll be released alongside the season premier of the TV show apparently, which is currently listed for broadcast on September 24 this year. Not long to wait, then.
When Heroes first hit television screens in 2006 it was a refreshing change, paving the way for the many superhero series we have today such as Arrow, The Flash and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The characters’ powers were interesting, but what was more impressive was the humanity brought to each and every character, and how the show blurred the line between good and evil. I was actually disappointed when it was cancelled, as I felt it had so much more to give - though not everyone shares that view.
We’ll need to wait until later this year to find out if the new show - and the games - live up to the pre-release hype.
In the meantime, check out the announcement trailer for the games below.
