KISS Ltd. has revealed plans to bring Guilty Gear XX #Reload to Steam on September 5, according to Joystiq.
Guilty Gear is a popular 2D fighting game franchise that dates back to the original title on the first PlayStation, focused on highly-detailed anime-styled sprites alongside a very competitive fighting engine. XX #Reload is the second iteration of the Guilty Gear XX title, followed by Slash, Accent Core, Accent Core Plus, and Accent Core Plus R. These updates have added new modes and characters, but the upcoming Steam release of Guilty Gear XX #Reload is likely a release of the 2005 Windows PC version of the title - nearly a decade old, but unquestionably appreciated.
In responses to the announcement on Twitter, KISS states that they can’t announce other titles at the moment, and that Arc System Works (the developers of the original title) did not officially include netplay support
Guilty Gear Isuka, another title in the franchise known for including a side-scrolling beat ‘em up mode, and the spiritual sibling BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger, are both already on Steam.
