An industry favorite from 2013, Gucamelee! is one of the latest games with superior Metroidvania gameplay, where a solo character on a journey explores the world, achieves new abilities and weapons, and backtracks to unlock new areas and fight new boss. Gucamelee! combines solid gameplay with a unique art style, bringing the world of luchadores to construction paper cut-outs and HD visuals.

While the title came out on PlayStation 3 and Vita initially, it soon jumped to Steam with a Gold Edition that bundled the DLC with Steam Workshop functionality, allowing creators to add custom character skins to the Windows version, which soon spread to OS X and Linux in February. In July, the title relaunched as Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition, which took the Gold Edition and added more levels, abilities, and bosses to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Wii U, and Xbox One.

Now, Drinkbox Studios has announced this version of the title will bounce over to Steam, according to Game Informer. The title will run standard for $14.99 for new owners (with a 10% discount at launch), but those who own Gold Edition can get the title for $4.99 when it launches on Thursday.

The original trailer above wears the Capcom influence on its sleeve: beyond the new upgrade taking adjectives from the Street Fighter series, the footage of Juan shadowed stems from the intro of Super Street Fighter II.
