Coffee Stain Studios has announced a release date for its upcoming Goat-’em-up, Goat Simulator.
In a stroke of marketing genius, Goat Simulator will release on April 1st exclusively on PC.
Originally conceived via a game jam, Goat Simulator does exactly what it says on the tin. Players play as a goat with an extra-long sticky tongue that can attach itself to objects for hilarious outcomes.
Goat Simulator is the culmination of an internet-wide campaign to turn the game jam concept into a fully realised retail title. Gaming sites the likes of Rock Paper Shotgun and GameSpot both expressed an interest in seeing the idea fully realized. In fact, it gathered such a following that YouTube celebrity PewDiePie joined the campaign by saying; “I need Goat Simulator in my life!”
No news yet on whether there’s going to be a GOaTY edition at some point down the line.
Goat Simulator will be let out of its pen on April 1st for the sum $9.99, which, for the record, is a lot cheaper than a ticket to the zoo.
