If you’re a fan of simulation games, then you’re probably used to ferrying cargo from one place to the next, or putting out poorly-rendered fires. The fact is, simulation games tend to have a rather dry subject matter.
Coffee Stain Studios - developers of the excellent Sanctum 2 - is hoping to change that with Goat Simulator.
Yes, you read that correctly. No, it isn’t a typo. They’re actually releasing a game that simulates being a goat.
Originally developed in jest for a game jam, the response to the game’s Youtube trailer has been so immense that the developer has since conceded they have no choice but to release it as a full product. As stated on their website: “OKAY INTERNET YOU WIN, IT LOOKS LIKE GOAT SIMULATOR IS OUR NEXT IP.”
The game is expected to be released this Spring -bugs and all - but so far, Coffee Stain hasn’t given an exact date. It’s currently available to preorder for $9.99 from the official website.
Why should you care? Watch the trailer below. Goat Simulator has just catapulted to the top our most-wanted list for 2014.
