It’s a good job the Xbox One 1TB edition came out last June - Gears of War: Ultimate Edition will take a whopping 44.42GB of your precious hard drive space.
Not only will it eat up your space, if you want all the achievements in your journey back with Delta Squad be prepared to let it eat up your time, too.
The notorious “Seriously” achievement returns in a big way, copycatting the original Gears achievement in that the 10,000 kills required to earn “Seriously” must all come within the versus ranked match game mode. No boosting kills in Single Player with a Brumak à la Gears of War 2 this time. The full achievement list can be found posted on the Gears of War forum.
Considering the Gears of War franchise has always been a visually impressive one with each title, the required space may not come as a big surprise. The retexturing and visual improvements will account for some of it, but it’s also shipping with 5 extra chapters that were only previously available on the PC version of the original game. Factor in the multiplayer upgrades for running at 1080p and 60 frames per second, and you’re left with the monstrous 44.42GB to be consumed by your hard drive.
Gears of War: Ultimate Edition is released worldwide August 25th on Xbox One and TBC on PC.
