Ubisoft and Signal Studios have announced Toy Soldiers: War Chest, the latest game in the Toy Soldiers series.
In War Chest, players will be able to choose from four different armies as they prepare to face waves of oncoming enemy soldiers. The familiar Kaiser makes his return as a playable hero character with tanks and machine guns, while a new heroine, Starbright, will round out the roster with her magical rainbow unicorns and bubble guns (yes, seriously). Two additional unannounced playable armies will be revealed closer to launch day. Each hero will have unique armies and skills to take out their opponents, as well as their own unique campaign.
According to Signal Studios founder D. R. Albright III, the partnership with Ubisoft has allowed the developer the “opportunity to create the Toy Soldiers game we had always envisioned.”
Albright also said, “Gamers of all ages can play and face-off against toys familiar to them from their childhood to recreate the battles of their imaginations,” leaving us wondering just how many nostalgic memories we’re going to blow up in our plastic mortar assault strikes.
War Chest will feature expanded multiplayer and cooperative gameplay too, promising to provide plenty of bang for your buck. The game will be available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC early next year.
