Sony has shown off a smattering of new screens for the upcoming PS Vita RPG Freedom Wars.
Freedom Wars is a co-op ARPG in the vein of Monster Hunter. Set in the far future, the story centers around dystopian security states called “Panopticons”, where players are tasked with reducing the length of their prison term by completing quests. The earth is in ruins and no longer capable of supporting life, and with resources scarse, the 47 different states have all taken to competing with one another.
The game is a collaborative effort between Sony Japan Studio (Gravity Rush), Shift (God Eater) and Dimps (recent handheld Sonic games). Freedom Wars has been confirmed for North American release but at the moment there’s no firm release date.
