Former Naughty Dog employee Nate Wells has joined Crystal Dynamics as new art director. Wells revealed the news earlier today in a tweet.

Before joining Naughty Dog in 2012, Wells spent 13 years at Irrational Games. He left Naughty Dog in April this year and join The Unfinished Swan developers, Giant Sparrow.

Wells will now serve as art director for Crystal Dynamics, though it hasn’t been announced whether he’ll be working on the upcoming Rise of the Tomb Raider or a new IP (or the Soul Reaver sequel we all still hope for - and keep asking Square Enix about, much to their annoyance).

Wells’ career is rather prestigious. Before working as Art Director on The Last of Us, he was one of the principle minds behind 2007’s excellent Bioshock.

We’ll update you when we hear more.
