The fourth and final installment of point-and click horror series Five Nights At Freddy’s will be with us a lot earlier than initially expected. Originally set for a Hallowe’en launch, you’ll now be able to scare yourself silly all over again next month instead. Five Nights At Freddy’s 4: The Final Chapter arrives on August 8th - the anniversary of the first game’s release.
Five Night At Freddy’s has achieved cult status since the original game’s release last year. Millions have watched reaction videos of various YouTubers playing the games (usually screaming), trying to survive the ordeal of a night when animatronic characters attempt to kill them. The original game is even set to be made into a movie.
The reason for the release being bought forward is that the creator of the series, Scott Cawthon, wanted it to coincide with the 1 year anniversary of the original Five Nights At Freddy’s being published.
If you were banking on the Halloween release satisfying your thrill seeking for the spooky holiday however, don’t worry: in an email sent to Youtuber Razzbowski (video below), Cawthon stated that he has something special planned for owners of the game.
