Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, Square Enix’s MMORPG based within the Final Fantasy universe is to receive a Free Login period over the course of the next weekend.

Closely following the release of Patch 2.5 - Before the Fall last week, which added a plethora of new features to the game, including new dungeons, chocobo racing and a full version of the Triple Triad card game from Final Fantasy VIII, any player that has previously purchased and registered Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, and has an account which is recognised as inactive over the campaign period will be able to log in any time between January 30th at 08:00 GMT to February 2nd at 08:00 GMT to try out the new features that are now available for the game.

Heather Williams was a big fan of the 2013 MMORPG. “Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is a vast improvement on the original,” she wrote in her Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Review. “With a solid storyline and some beautiful voice acting, alongside a gorgeous soundtrack, A Realm Reborn has everything it needs to become a very good MMORPG, and it’s well on its way to being a worthy successor to Final Fantasy XI. It may not be revolutionary, and it may not be anything too different from the MMOs that we’re used to, but it is extremely addictive, satisfying and enjoyable to play.”
