After recently releasing the Hyperion update, the well-loved space businessman simulator faces two high profile departures.
CCP, the developer, is looking to close its San Francisco office. In the process, they’re saying goodbye to chief marketing officer David Reid and chief financial officer Joe Gallo.
Originally reported on Reddit, the closure is part of the firm’s decision to “combine and simplify.” In an attempt to contact CCP, the firm gave Eurogamer “no further explanation was given nor will be for the time being.”
In a tweet responding to the news, David Reid stated:
Tks for the kind words folks, I am leaving CCP soon, was a tough decision, the travel I needed to do between USA-Iceland was just too hard.

Reid was well known for helping to launch online PS3 shooter Dust 514, having joined CCP in 2012 from Trion.
In comparison, Gallo has been chief financial officer at CCP for five years.
Their departures are the first in a long list of departures from the Icelandic studio. Prior to those two, CCP also oversaw the departure of executive producer Jon Lander, lead designer Kristoffer Touborg, director of security Sean Conover, and lead community Pete McKay. In June this year, CCP focused on streamlining its brand and spent its efforts on the Eve Online product, cutting 49 employees in the process.
