While the sequel to Titanfall has yet to be announced, judging by the immense hype and popularity surrounding the recent sci-fi multiplayer FPS, it’s likely that Titanfall 2 is going to be happening.
Better yet, according to an anonymous source spoken to by GameSpot, not only is Titanfall 2 going to drop, creating the freshest IP’s in multiplyer FPS’ in a good long while, but the franchise is also staying under the publishing banner of EA.
This report come as a direct result of the sales performance of Titanfall, which was released last week on PC and Xbox One, and was just today delayed until April on Xbox 360.
While EA, of course, does not comment on rumors or speculation, it still remains to be seen if Titanfall 2, or whatever form the sequel takes, will be an Xbox exclusive, or if it will pop up on the PS4 and/or Wii U.
Although the sales figures have not been released of Titanfall so far, it seems safe to say that the game sold quite well, given this report and the intense marketing campaign that surrounded the game pre-launch.
This is of course very exciting to think about, as our upcoming review of Titanfall will attest to, but for now, let’s just enjoy what we have and see any future franchise-driven efforts into the IP as a great bonus.
