The trailer starts - Master Chief drags a spiky metal object along the floor. It looks like a mine, but we can’t be sure.
The Chief shoves everything else out of the way, as he approaches a door and throws it open. The Chief steps out, and hurtles towards the planet, with the spiky object at his feet.
He leans forward, and punches a few buttons with the cool demeanor we are used to. He straightens back up and kicks the object towards a spaceship which appeared beneath him; the mine flies towards the ship, and blows it to oblivion.
The Chief floats in place while we see a helmeted face, apparently searching for the Chief; his helmet is strangely reminiscent of Dead Space‘s Issac Clarke.
The words appear on-screen: “Your journey begins.”
At the end of Halo 4, the Chief is left with a lot of questions; in Halo 5: Guardians the Chief will question everything, including authority, as he searches for his answers; his answers and the truth.
Additionally, Microsoft revealed a second trailer showing off what they call “Next Generation Arena Multiplayer,” which shows the classic red and blue teams going head to head. You can view that one below and the above-described one as it becomes available.
