Perhaps one of the most bloody revolutions of the 18th century is the French Revolution, and Assassin’s Creed Unity takes the French Revolution and gives a highly realistic interpretation of it, with an open-world four player co-op experience that will be exclusive for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC.
Beyond that, Ubisoft have shown off both some highly refined gameplay and a CGI trailer. The CGI trailer featured Lorde’s cover of ‘Everybody Wants to Rule the World,’ with some heavy contrast between the badassery of the four Assassins, the cruelty of the French soldiers, and the militant anger of the revolutionaries.
But what was really taking was the gameplay demo that was shown immediately afterwards that showed off the extensive skill set of the new Assassin Arno, who was described as “the most deadliest Assassin yet.” Arno’s move set largely revolves around the players style of combat, and can include classic close combat, a hidden hand crossbow and various others.
Arno fights quite differently than previous Assassins. He’s far less savage than Conner, and far less refined than Ezio, and really seems to have his own sense of what being an Assassin means. Showing up toward the end of the gameplay demo was the other three unnamed Assassin, who presumably will be integral to the game from a both a gameplay and narrative perspective.
