Square-Enix has announced today that excerpts of the Drakengard 3 prequel novella have gone up on their site. The novella is a bonus goodie bundled with the limited quantity Drakengard 3 Collector’s Edition. The novella chapters are named ‘Zero’, ‘Two, ‘Three’, ‘Four’ and ‘Five’ after the Drakengard characters of the same names; each chapter delving into the back story of the respective character.
In addition, Square-Enix announced new pre-order bonuses:
Players who pre-order Drakengard 3 at the Square Enix Online Store between now and launch – including those who pre-ordered the game during Wave One and Two – will receive six free PlayStation®Network themes featuring Zero, her dragon companion Mikhail and the four Disciples: Cent, Octa, Decadus and Dito. Another pre-order incentive, exclusive to Amazon.com and other participating retailers, will allow players to download three costume color variations for Zero.
This announcement marks the third tier of pre-order incentives for Drakengard 3. ‘Wave One’ included the original Japanese dub as DLC, and ‘Wave 2′ included the NIER costume pack.
Drakengard 3 is set for release across North America on May 20 for $49.99, and across EU territories from May 21 for €49.99. It is poised as a digital exclusive with no plans for a physical retail release.
