Retro-gaming specialist DotEmu has done it again.
The company, which dedicates itself to taking old games, giving them a lick of paint and presenting them to a new audience, has re-released the first three games in Taito’s classic side-scrolling beat-em-up series. The collected trilogy is available now on Steam and GOG.com for $4.79.
Experience Double Dragon, Double Dragon 2: The Revenge, and Double Dragon 3: The Rosetta Stone without fumbling for quarters and in the comfort of your own PC chair. The Trilogy offers 2 game modes - arcade and story - and three difficulty levels: easy, original, and expert. DotEmu has even included online co-op, and full support for gamepad control.
If you want an even bigger nostalgic hit, there are custom options for sound and graphics to give you that more authentic arcade feel - so you don’t have to put up with vaseline-smeared filters which plague so many retro re-releases (though they are an option, if you’re one of those people).
If you ever curb stomped a watermelon in your red pajamas with a make-shift sock bandana tied around your forehead, Double Dragon Trilogy should be a no-brainer.
