Today publisher NIS America announced that a PS Vita bound re-release of the PlayStation 3 strategy RPG Disgaea 4: A Unforgotten Promise will be making its way to the West later this Summer. The Vita version of the game, entitled Disgaea 4: A Promise Revisted, is expanded over the original, including all the features and content from the PS3 original as well as the following new features:

  • Brand new scenarios that flesh out character back-stories
  • New characters
  • Cameo appearances from characters across the Disgaea series
  • A new tier of spells, job specific techniques and other gameplay enhancements
  • New music tracks (total track count now near 100)
  • Hi-resolution sprites
  • And “more”

The Disgaea series originally debuted back on the PlayStation 2, and features a staggering amount of depth, with characters able to reach level 999. Weapons and items can also be leveled up, through venturing inside them in a series of randomly-generated dungeons. All three mainline entries have received enhanced portable versions, while there have also been a number of spin-off titles produced, such as Prinny: Can I Really Be the Hero?

A Promise Revisited will be released in both physical and digital form on August 12 in North America and August 29 across Europe. For more information keep an eye on the game’s official website as well as checking back with us.
