Diablo III is released today for PS3 and Xbox 360.
The console version of the controversial ARPG sequel features a revised loot system, local and online multiplayer co-op and a new dodge mechanic that makes it easier for players to avoid incoming attacks from enemies. Changes to the difficulty settings have also been made; although you’ll still need to complete the game on each difficulty in order to unlock the next up the line, players can scale the level of challenge up or down to suit their skill - doing so will increase or decrease the probability of rare loot dropping.
We’ve been playing the console version for a few days now and while our review isn’t yet ready for publication, we can tell you that Diablo III on console is an incredibly addictive game that fixes many of the criticisms that were leveled at the game upon its original PC release, albeit with a few caveats.
Keep an eye out for our review, which should go live by the end of the week - assuming we can stop playing the game long enough to write it, of course.
