Destiny’s launch trailer has hit, marking the twilight period before the game hits stores and is in your hands in a couple of weeks.
The trailer teases you with a taste of how you’ll be spending your time in the world of Bungie’s first non-Halo game in over a decade, both single-handedly and cooperatively, leaning more towards the scope of the adventures you can discover with your friends through things like riding together on hover bikes to coordinating powers against enemies. You can pre-order Destiny in stores or on Digital Download now for exclusive content.
Also be sure to check out our Destiny preview by our very own Kyle Barrows, who thoroughly enjoyed his experience. “When the smoke cleared, I stood alone in a room full of dead Hive, I gave myself an epic high five and strutted out of that room like the boss I am.”
Bungie has found itself mired in controversy recently, however. Concerns were raised that each planet in the game will only have a single playable area, there have been questions about the low level cap, and eyebrows were raised at the price of the upcoming DLC, which has already been dated before the game is even on shelves. And then there’s the ongoing legal battle with former Bungie composer - and co-founder of the studio - Marty O’Donnell, who declared back in April that his contract with Bungie had been terminated “without cause”. The legal case has so far been going in O’Donnell’s favor, with Bungie ordered to pay significant damages as well as return O’Donnell’s founders shares to him, which we reported on earlier this week.
