The upcoming blockbuster developed by Bungie - renowned for the Halo franchise - has been given an open beta for all players who have pre-ordered Destiny from participating retailers.
Playstation users (both next-gen and current-gen) will gain access to the Destiny Beta on July 17 at 17:00pm, whereas Xbox One and 360 users will have to wait until July 23 at 17:00pm to be able to play it. There will be some scheduled maintenance on July 21 until July 22, before the test opens up to pre-order players across all platforms until July 28 at 06:59am - when the Destiny beta will shut.
Harold Ryan, President of Bungie, said that he is “excited and eager to open the flood gates” as “we prepare to launch our first Beta on multiple console platforms around the world”. He also stated that “We already love to play Destiny and with your help we can be ready for our launch in September”.
Destiny is an upcoming online action FPS game that is set to be released September 9, 2024 on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. It is being developed by Bungie and published by Activision, and is Bungie’s first new IP since the release of Halo: Combat Evolved all the way back in 2001.
Holy sh*t, 2001?! Has it really been that long?
Bloody hell, suddenly we feel very old indeed.
