Xbox One gamers hoping to continue their undead slaughter in Dead Rising 3‘s DLC content are in for a slightly longer wait.
Announced via twitter, Operation Broken Eagle will now launch on the 21st of January next year, in order to allow the developers some extra time for polish. Previously, the expansion was dated for a release on Christmas Eve.
In a statement, Microsoft has said that “adding new content to the massive open world of Los Perdidos is a major undertaking, and to ensure we provide the best possible experience for players, we are putting a few additional weeks of polish and testing into the episode before it’s released”.
Operation Broken Eagle takes you out of the shoes of Dead Rising 3‘s protagonist Nick Ramos and places you in control of Adam Kane, who is attempting track down the President of the United States. The expansion will bring new weapons, a new combo weapon, an additional outfit and vehicle, as well as adding more achievements for gamers to grab for those players hungry to increase their score.
Included as part of the game’s season pass, it will also be available separately for $9.99. A UK price is yet to be confirmed, but we’d expect it to be around the £6.99/£7.99 mark given previous examples.
Dead Rising 3 formed part of the launch line-up for Microsoft’s new console. It was rather good, gathering a lot of fans - so the the new of this delay will come as a disappointment to many. However, extra polish is always a good thing - especially considering how many games get released these days with bug and technical issues which go beyond acceptable and into the realms of the absurd. Backwards-flying dragons, anyone?
We’ll keep you updated if there’s any further change.
