DC-based MOBA Infinite Crisis Shutting Down

Six short months after release, DC Comics MOBA Infinite Crisis is being shuttered on August 14th, 2015.

In a recent Steam announcement, Turbine confirmed that it’s officially ceased any future development, and put the final date for the game closing down. Having originally released on March 26th, Infinite Crisis performed decently well for critics and fans alike, but lacked the full range of features that its other competitors had.

“After much deliberation, we regret to announce the official shutdown of Infinite Crisis.” aaid Turbine Studios in the Steam news announcement. “This was an extremely difficult decision to make. On behalf of the entire Infinite Crisis team we want to thank all of you for your feedback, support and for joining together to create one of the best communities in gaming.”

Opinion: Although MOBA is a massively crowded market, it’s a shame that the full release didn’t even survive a full six months before being shuttered. Doubly so for the users who’ve bought premium items at cost, and now find themselves with a short timer until the game, and their bought content, are gone for good. At least refunds are being offered for those who bought the starter or elite pack.

@Eruannster I apparently could tell most of the time (favored 320 and WAV) but just barely, and picked 128 for Jay-Z and Coldplay, so... Eh? - 3 hours ago
