Check Out Crookz - The Big Heist Gameplay In Groovy New Trailer

Crookz - The Big Heist Gets A Groovy Gameplay Trailer

While I am far too young to have massive amounts of love for old 70s and 80s spy films and TV shows, it occupies a warm place of nostalgia for many people - full of flared pants and vibrant colors (the genre, not the people who enjoy them).

Crookz - The Big Heist is a tactical strategy game about breaking in, getting the goods, and getting out. Hidden behind the tan carpets and wood paneling are plenty of treasures and valuables that need stealing. Players will have access to several potential crew members and tools to best claim the goods, and succeed in making off like stylish bandits into the night.

18 missions are planned to be included in the final release, with an additional Challenge mode offering the chance to try out a range of super-difficult levels and compete against friends for a place on the leaderboards.

The new trailer certainly gets the tone of the era spot-on, all subdued mustards and browns, with the intro sequence replicating the look of old scratched videotape footage. Once the video gets down to gameplay however, we’re in more familiar territory. With its top-down viewpoint and strategic gameplay, Crookz resembles something akin to the classic Commandos games, with the need to manage the various skills and tools of your team members in order to successfully stage each break in and get to the required loot. One interesting addition appears to the ability to queue up multiple actions for all team members, before hitting the play button and having your team execute their plan while sitting back and watch it all unfold.

It all looks pretty interesting, in other words, and could be a fun title to help see you through the tail-end of the summer drought.

Crookz - The Big Heist is set for release on August 26th for PC, Mac, and SteamOS. More information can be found on the game’s official website.
