When Black Ops III was announced a few weeks ago, the Wii U was nowhere to be found on the list of platforms - a fact which didn’t surprise many, given the lack of third-party support on Nintendo’s current home console.
But Twitter user GoodGamer14 asked Activision why the capability to connect Nintendo’s Network IDs was featured on the official Call of Duty website, if the title isn’t going to be released on Wii U. The response? “Stay tuned for more Wii U releases.”
@GoodGamer14 Hey there. Stay tuned for more Wii U releases. ^DL

One way this could be interpreted is that Activision is trying to say that a Wii U port of the game is a reality. Another possibility is that Activision is planning a standalone Call of Duty game for the Wii U, though it would certainly be strange to then not include the Xbox 360 and PS3 on the list of platforms, especially given the low install base of the Wii U. Of course, the reply doesn’t mention Call of Duty specifically,
But Black Ops III wouldn’t be the first game in the Call of Duty franchise to appear on Wii U. Call of Duty: Black Ops II made its debut on the system in 2012, and was actually a pretty solid effort, so who knows what Activision is planning?
Call of Duty: Black Ops III is being developed by Treyarch Studios this time around. These are the same folks that brought the series and its famous Zombies mode as you all know. Black Ops III will make available the series’ first female playable main character and a co-op campaign that supports up to four users. The game also includes dedicated servers for multiplayer.
