As we power through the opening conference at E3 hosted by Microsoft, we have been given a look at some gameplay for the upcoming instalment in the titan Call of Duty franchise.
Viewers were shown what appears to be a futuristic Korean city, and a lot of destruction - certainly during this level of the live demo. There were also a lot of explosions, including hovering and tracking grenades and a lot of gunshots from both almost-modern and futuristic guns. The less advanced guns appear to be a futuristic upgrade on current-day guns for the most part, up until we get a preview of a powerful laser gun that appears to almost instantly kill any basic enemy, which you fire through your shield.
Not only this, but a jetpack appears to be one of the biggest additions where you can break your falls without taking damage as well as being able to jump onto moderately high surfaces such as busses to gain an advantage on your enemies. We also got to see some large mechanical spider-tanks, huge swarms of flying bots and a form of proximity detection for close-by enemies.
The final part of the demo was more cinematic than actual gameplay, but we got a glimpse at some of the vehicles, varying from airships to hover bikes as well as the anticipated involvement of Kevin Spacey.
The game is set to be released 4th November 2014 on Xbox One and PS4, (as well as their predecessors,) with all DLC being released exclusively first on Xbox as part of Microsoft’s ongoing partnership with Activision.
