Brian Fargo, founder and head of inXile Entertainment, has revealed Wasteland 2‘s opening cinematic. In the the movie, which you can see below, a combination of original and stock live-action video footage is used to set up the premise of the game and introduces the Desert Rangers, an organization dedicated to bringing peace and justice to the post-apocalyptic United States.
Gameplay takes the form of a party-based top-down survival RPG with turn-based combat, reminscent of the original Fallout - which was, itself, inspired by Fargo’s original.
Wasteland 2 is expected to be released this August, but you can see what all the fuss is about by purchasing the Early Access version of the game on Steam.
