Betrayer, Blackpowder Games’ debut title, has been officially launched, after being in Early Access on Steam since last August. Betrayer takes place in an abandoned New World colony in 1604 and tasks the player with uncovering the fate of the inhabitants whilst surviving a range of supernatural threats.
Betrayer‘s writer, Craig Hubbard, describes it as “the kind of game we’ve been wanting to make ever since we shipped F.E.A.R.” which certainly fits with Blackpowder describing it as “eerie” and “suspenseful”. An action/adventure game, Betrayer will allow players to explore open areas in search of loot and clues, and will allow players to approach various situations in either a stealthy or head-on manner as they please. Betrayer will also allow players to outfit themselves with the equipment they feel best suits their play style.
Betrayer can be purchased either on Steam or on Blackpowder’s website for $19.99/£14.99/€18.99.
