A new Nintendo Direct video is out, giving us more details on the upcoming Bayonetta 2, a WiiU exclusive title. You might want to make a sandwich though, as it’s a little over half an hour.
Europe will be able to get its hands on the Bayonetta sequel on October 24, though the rest of the world will have to wait a bit longer. We’re still not sure about a release date for anybody else but we’ll keep you posted.
We’re pretty excited about Bayonetta 2 and the demo of the hack-n-slash action sequel didn’t disappoint. Nintendo has also announced that exclusive to Europe, the Bayonetta 2 First Print Edition will give you disc copies of Bayonetta 2 along with the WiiU remake of the previous game. It also includes The Art of Bayonetta - a 3D embossed tome that re-creates The Hierarchy of Laguna for those faithful that absolutely need that tactile experience.
As if that wasn’t enough, we’ll be able to choose between three retail versions at launch: First Print, as mentioned, Second Print, with just the WiiU discs, and Solus for those that only want to drop their cash on Bayonetta 2. Digital versions of both games will be available on the Nintendo eShop, too, and anyone that purchases one of the Bayonetta games there will receive the other at a discount price. Seems like Nintendo is doing everything it can to make sure that everyone out there has full access to the Bayonetta experience. Or to get your wallet. Or both.
Another tidbit we’ll have access to is the three cosplay costumes in the original - Princess Peach, Link, and Samus - will be available in the sequel along with a Bayonetta 2 exclusive outfit, highly reminiscent of one Fox McCloud. We’ll also be able to use Rodin as a playable character in the game’s online multiplayer mode, Tag Climax, as shown in the Nintendo Direct video. In the lengthy film, we’ve also learned about new characters, storyline, combat mechanics, weapons, magic, Bayonetta’s skillset, Muspelheim challenge rooms, the ranking system, and how to spend Halos on items, skills, and weapons modifications.
Nintendo squeezed a lot of information in, but nothing about a North American release date or prices any where. We’ll just have to wait and see.
