Following on from the leaked footage from earlier this week, Ubisoft has officially confirmed the existence of Assassin’s Creed: Unity, alongside a teaser trailer.
Unity follows on the heels of last year’s Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, which was rather good. The trailer doesn’t show an awful lot, aside from making clear the game is, indeed, set in Paris during the time of the French Revolution. What it does show us however, is just how attractive it’s going to be. The Anvil Engine has always been known for its ability to create stunning vistas, of course; but if the footage shown off here is to be believed, Unity raises the standard for videogame visuals to a new level.
The game is confirmed for PC, Xbox One and PS4. If current rumors are to be believed, last-generation consoles are to receive an entirely separate game this year; Ubisoft is remaining silent on this point so far, however.
