The yearly entry in the popular historical stealth-action franchise, Assassin’s Creed Unity, has been delayed two weeks. Now, the title will release on November 11th in the United States and November 13th in Europe, Middle East, and Asia.
“As we got close to the finish, we realized we were near the target but still needed a bit more time to hone some of the details to make sure Assassin’s Creed Unity is exceptional,” Vincent Pontbriand, senior producers at Ubisoft, said of the delay. “We sincerely appreciate players’ commitment to the game and their patience. It’s just a couple more weeks. And it’s going to be worth it.”
The press release points out that the two extra weeks will help ensure that the quality of the game meets fans’ - and the team’s - lofty expectations. The news has no impact on the company’s full year financial targets, which Ubisoft also confirms today.
Ubisoft is quick to note that the US release date for Assassin’s Creed Rogue, the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 title, will remain on November 11, but the Europe/Middle East/Asia release has shifted to November 13 to pair with Unity, which is releasing on Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
