In a bid to outpace tech media giants Google and Apple, Amazon has formally released news about its new streaming media device, FireTV. FireTV will allow users to instantly access a huge database of movies, TV show and most importantly, games.
As per today’s announcement, thousands of video game titles will be available to users of the Android based device, including the critically and commercially acclaimed Minecraft. With an average cost of $1.85 per game, FireTV will also feature an extensive library free-to-play titles as well.
According to the announcement, Amazon Games Studio is also currently developing several unique IP’s of their own. This includes a first person-shooter called Sev Zero, which is a sci-fi themed shooter which mixes elements of tower defense into its gameplay.
Also previewed is a racing title called Asphalt 8, a Monsters University game, an unnamed endless runner and another unnamed adventure game set in the jungle, that features everyone’s favorite dinosaur, a T-Rex, with a rocket strapped to its back.
Classic T-Rex.
